Adam Quang learned the art of hand embroidery and haute couture of dress making in Vietnam, where he was born. He has worked in Montréal's fashion scene since 1990 and in 1998 created his own design label, AQÚ. In 2001, he won the Excellence Young Quebec Designers Award competition, and in 2003 AQÚ was named as STYLE magazine's "Notable New Label".
Some of Adam's most recent projects include custom hand embroidered linens and accessories for the elegant Villa Gayrard Inn, North Hatley, wardrobe department for TV shows. Designed the attire for the female service staff at the new and trendy St. Laurent Boulevard bar, Rouge, Montreal.
Throughout the years Adam came to the understanding that much of his work took the form of image consultation rather than pure design, and he is now offering this as a service independent of his design label. As such, Adam is eager to work in partnership with other local designers and retailers to expose new clients to the wealth of talent in Montréal's fashion scene.
His clientele includes international, national and local celebrities. Among the luminaries who have drawn upon his services as stylist: actor William Hurt; Carolyn Weaver, host of the TV literary program "Fine Print"; and actor Julie Stewart, lead character on the CTV television series "Cold Squad."
